How To Create a Baby Shower Corsage?

A baby shower is a beautiful chance to tribute an expectant mother and assist to welcome her to the world of motherhood. The gifts are specially for the baby, but the day is all about the Mother.

On special occasions, many women prefer wearing a corsage, making a special corsage for the mom-to-be does not have to be difficult. Here are a few ideas and steps on how to make a wrist corsage:

  • Color matters. consider using either the colour pink or blue, depending to the sexes of the baby. If the gender is yet unknown, you might want to choose the mom's favorite color. If you want to be safe, you can always pick the colour white or ivory since you can be sure they will not clash with her outfit.
  • Formal or informal? Depending on the setting, the wrist corsages can go from being very elegant to fun and silly. Also take into account decor and locale of the shower, as well as the personality of  mother-to-be.

Creating a "traditional floral corsage" is quite simple.

Here is a list of materials, then the baby shower corsage instructions:

    • A few flowers, either fresh or silk. Orchids, carnations, tea roses and baby's breath work especially well.
    • Scissors
    • Floral wire
    • Floral tape
    • Thin fabric ribbon
    • Hot glue gun, optional (used only if you choose silk flowers)
    • Straight pins (not used for wrist corsage)
    • Wristlet, optional (available at florists and craft stores)

    Procedure:

    1. Cut flowers to the desired length, usually 3-4 inches.
    2. Poke floral wire through each flower stem and bend into a hairpin shape. Fold excess wire back up so that the ends are rounded.
    3. Wrap a little floral tape around individual flower stems, then "bundle" them together by using additional floral tape.
    4. Tie ribbon around stems to complete the look.
    5. If desired, attach flower bundle to wristlet by hot gluing silks or twisting the attached loop around the stem of a fresh floral corsage.
